As doctor’s, we understand that illnesses and injuries don’t always occur during our regular business hours. They often happen unexpectedly, and you are not always able to be prepared when they do occur. For this reason, our practice offers an urgent care or walk-in clinic with after hours, offering our patients to be seen on a walk-in basis.
When your primary care physician isn’t an option to see for care, urgent cares are available to treat minor medical problems and injuries that are not life-threatening, but still need the attention of a health care provider, such as broken bones, sports injuries, falls, and sprains and strains.
Orthopedic injuries happen on a daily basis, and can come with some pretty acute pain. Pain is an important and reliable indicator, as our body sends signals from the injured area, signaling that something is wrong. This pain is not something to ignore. Orthopedic physicians specialize in treating these injuries and other chronic conditions of the musculoskeletal system, which can affect parts of the body such as bones, tendons, ligaments, joints, and cartilage.
Although emergency rooms do effectively treat emergency injuries and medical conditions, it is important to note that these walk-in clinics are not an alternative to the emergency room; but they are a better alternative, as no appointment is necessary, without the wait and cost of an emergency room visit. When visiting the ER, you have no idea how long you will be waiting, when taking into consideration that any number of serious or life-threatening emergencies might take precedence over a painful injury.
As an urgent care, we offer regular same-day appointments, walk-ins with no appointment necessary, as well as extended after-hours in the evening and on weekends.
If you are suffering from acute musculoskeletal injuries and conditions affecting your bones, joints, and muscles, an orthopedic urgent care will evaluate and treat you accordingly. Conditions treated in an orthopedic urgent care include:
- Work-related injuries
- Sprains and strains
- Sports injuries
- Shoulder and elbow injuries
- Fractures and dislocations
- Acute/ sudden low back pain
- Knee and hip pain and injuries
At Advance Bone & Joints QUICK CARE facility, we are happy treat and provide services for those suffering from acute orthopedic injuries such as breaks, sprains, and strains that have occurred recently, normally within 72 hours.
Although urgent cares and walk-in clinics usually do not require an appointment to be made, in order to provide care to everyone who needs it in a timely manner, those who walk in with an injury or ailment older than 72 hours will be required to make an appointment.
