Matthew B. Hammer, FNP-BC

Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Matthew Hammer joined Advanced Bone & Joint in 2020 as a family nurse practitioner in our Ortho Urgent Care Clinic. He works in collaboration with Dr. Brandon Larkin to provide care for patients with acute orthopedic injuries and ailments. Matt is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Matt obtained his bachelor’s of science in nursing in 2008 from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and worked in a Level II trauma center as an emergency room registered nurse. While working there, Matt helped treat all types of patients, from those with minor injuries and illnesses to trauma patients.

Matt obtained his master’s of science in nursing from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2013. He then worked in the urgent care setting for 6 years treating acute illnesses and injuries.

While orthopedics has always been an interest for Matt, it peaked after he went through a back injury in 2017. Matt enjoys working with patients on their recovery journey and puts an emphasis on exercise and nutrition during recovery.
