St. PetersSpecializing in Electrodiagnostic Medicine
Board-Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician in St. Peters, MO
After having worked closely with the specialists at Advanced Bone & Joint for several years, Dr. Williams now has the privilege of a dedicated Electrodiagnostic Medicine Clinic at the St. Peters Advanced Bone & Joint location two days a week. He performs EMG and nerve conduction studies as part of an Electrodiagnostic Medicine consultation to help diagnose diseases and injuries of nerves and muscles in a wide variety of patients with pain, neurological, rheumatological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Williams attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in chemistry. He then elected to attend the University of Missouri at Columbia School of Medicine, seeking their “problem-based learning” curriculum. He graduated cum laude from medical school in 1997.
Working as a resident physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency, Dr. Williams obtained high-quality, well-rounded training in his medical specialty. While training with one of the premier Electrodiagnostic Medicine physicians in San Antonio, Dr. Williams developed a keen interest in this subspecialty. He acquired the necessary independent practice experience and passed the written, video, and oral boards in 2003 to achieve subspecialty board certification in Electrodiagnostic Medicine (after a similar process for his PM&R boards in 2002).
Dr. Williams has practiced PM&R and Electrodiagnostic Medicine since 2001 in a variety of settings. He was in a small group in Jackson, Mississippi for almost 5 years and in St. Louis, Missouri for over 20 years. Dr. Williams has cared for patients in the hospital and in outpatient clinics with a wide variety of illnesses and injuries that affect their function at home, at work, and in the community.
When he’s not busy caring for patients, Dr. Williams enjoys sport (rock wall) climbing, keeping up with his (almost) grown children, trying (rather poorly) to make his guitar produce music, and hanging with Odie and Humphrey (two of the best dogs in the world). His life is not complete without Angie, his soul-mate (who occasionally laughs at his jokes).
